3. Task Description
3.1 Mission / Purpose of the position
Independent design of the piston, taking into account mechanical strength, manufacturability and costs.
3.2 Main Tasks
Consultation with Application Engineer, Analysis and production regarding piston design (national/international)
Development of constructive solutions as well as further development and optimization of existing designs
Creation of piston assembly part drawings (retaining rings, piston pins, ring carriers, salt rings, etc.) according to the recommendations of application engineering.
Independent design of piston test equipment (temperature measuring pistons, eddy current self-made probes and models for oil jet measurement, etc.).

Compliance with internal standards or DIN/ISO norms
Compliance with customer-specific requirements (GD&T tolerances, customer data quality, etc.)
Preparation if necessary Execution of data transfers to the customer, taking into account the customer's requirements
Performing tolerance assessments
Design of eddy current probes in coordination with Technology and external manufacturers
Creation of digital data for the metrology center
Creating Skirt Profile Drawings with ADC
Entry of all product documentation (e.g. CAD data) into Windchill
Implementation of project documentation in RES
Customer contact
Internal: sample line, toolmaking, test bench, purchasing and production. Global: Production Sites
Supplier
Partly to the customer to tune the CAD data quality
Monitoring
Consideration of safety-related guidelines and standards
Mutual control of product and die drawings
Monitoring the release of piston drawings
Regular review of feedback from the IMDS system

Education Completed mechanical engineering studies, 2 years work experience
Additional knowledge/training
- Courses in GD&T tolerances.
- Knowledge of CAD (Creo, Catia V5 and V6 or Siemens NX), ADC, SAP
- Advanced knowledge of power cylinder systems
- Good knowledge of piston technology and tolerances
- In-depth knowledge of tool design and toolmaking
- Very good written and spoken English skills
- IT– skills in Lotus Notes, MS Office and MS Windows
