MRS - Senior Commodity Buyer
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Commodity Buyer to join our innovative and fast-paced Tenneco team.
Working mode: 4 days onsite/1day HO weekly
Location: Hodkovice, Czechia
As a Senior Commodity Buyer, you will lead strategic sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of key commodities, ensuring cost-efficiency, supply chain resilience, and high-quality product delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee sourcing, supplier selection, RFIs/RFQs, and contract finalization.
- Develop commodity sourcing strategies aligned with company goals.
- Assess and build long-term supplier partnerships.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet technical and quality standards.
- Drive cost optimization and supplier performance improvements.
- Monitor market trends and supply chain risks.
- Negotiate pricing and terms for optimal value.
- Manage supplier relationships and performance reviews.
- Support new product introductions and sourcing strategies.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
- Travel as needed for supplier visits and industry events.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering.
- 5+ years of procurement experience in the automotive industry.
- Expertise in automotive commodities, market trends, and supplier management.
- Proven negotiation and contract management skills.
- Fluency in English.
Skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities.
- Proficient in SAP, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of BOMs, MRP, IATF 16949, and automotive standards.
- Ability to interpret engineering specs and materials.
