Senior Commodity NPI Buyer

Tenneco, a global leader in the automotive industry, is seeking a highly motivated Senior Commodity NPI Buyer to join our Aftermarket Business Unit specializing in dampers production. Reporting directly to the Purchasing Manager, this role is a cornerstone of our supply chain strategy, ensuring seamless sourcing and procurement for new product introductions (NPI) and current commodity management.

As a Senior Commodity NPI Buyer, you’ll work at the intersection of innovation and operational excellence, collaborating with engineering, design, and business teams to align procurement with product development timelines. This position plays a key role in maintaining supply chain stability, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost efficiencies in a highly dynamic and competitive market.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, negotiate, and manage relationships with local and global suppliers.

• Ensure suppliers meet quality, cost, and delivery standards for aftermarket dampers.

• Collaborate cross-functionally to align sourcing with NPI schedules.

• Evaluate risks, perform geopolitical analyses, and mitigate supply chain disruptions.

• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field.

• 5+ years of experience in sourcing or supply chain management, preferably in NPI.

• Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.

• Technical understanding of automotive products, especially dampers.

• Proficiency in supply chain tools and global sourcing strategies.
