Job Summary:
We’re seeking a Creative Production Lead to join Yahoo’s growing Marketing Operations team.
About us:
Our internal Creative Marketing Studio (MS) is the creative powerhouse behind Yahoo's brand presence across all business units. We steward the Yahoo brand and ensure exceptional quality across all creative assets, including external agency work.
The MS team delivers a high volume of mid- to lower-funnel design assets — spanning social, web, digital media, CRM as well as events. We also have internal resources for video, animation, and front-end development for digital media, social, and in-product placements.
About you:
As the Creative Production Lead, you are a strategic, solutions-oriented leader with a strong instinct for navigating complex, fast-moving projects. You thrive in high-pressure, startup-like environments and bring a deep background in creative production and team leadership. Your ability to balance logic with intuition enables you to make quick, informed decisions that drive the team forward.
You excel at managing competing priorities and fostering alignment across stakeholders at all levels. With diplomatic communication and operational rigor, you optimize workflows, bridge creative, marketing, and cross-functional teams, and uphold the highest standards of quality and efficiency across the production pipeline.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Partner with the Executive Creative Director to ensure efficient delivery of high-quality creative projects that align with Yahoo's brand standards and business objectives.
Operational Excellence: Work closely with the Creative Operations Lead to evolve scalable systems for team resourcing, change management, legal and compliance workflows, stakeholder alignment, and asset management.
Cross-Deliverable Collaboration: Collaborate with the Agency Operations team to build and refine integrated workflows when working with external agency partners.
Cross-Functional Alignment: Act as the primary liaison between the Creative Marketing Studio and cross-functional teams. Lead communication around project pipelines, resourcing, and priority shifts.
Executive Reporting: Establish project tracking requirements and provide clear, data-driven updates to senior leadership on project progress, resource utilization, potential risks, and team performance. Deliver transparent communication around timelines, milestones, and project status.
Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of six multi-disciplinary producers. Define a vision for scalable growth as the team evolves over the next few years.
Team Culture & Best Practices: Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and operational excellence. Establish production standards and best practices to enable high performance.
Production Oversight: Oversee the successful delivery of the full production portfolio, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and brand alignment.
Vendor & Freelance Management: Maintain and grow a vetted roster of vendors and freelancers to flex during peak demand periods.
Project Ownership: Take on end-to-end production of select high-profile projects, from brief to delivery.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Design, or equivalent experience.
8+ years of experience in creative production in a marketing environment, preferably on the brand side, with at least 2 years in a management role.
Experience managing integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels (digital, social, events).
Strong understanding of the end-to-end creative production process, from concept to execution.
Proven experience managing a creative production team or cross-functional team.
Exceptional organizational and workflow management skills, with demonstrated success in implementing efficient systems for resource allocation, deadline management, and prioritization within high-volume creative environments.
Solid understanding of digital marketing, design principles, and production technologies.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Skills:
Experience working with creative management tools and project management software (e.g., Wrike, Asana, Monday.com, Trello, Jira)
Familiarity with graphic design tools like Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma etc.
