IT Infrastructure Lead

Arconic Davenport, IA (Onsite) Full-Time

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the infrastructure team at the Davenport Works location.
  • Plan, design, and manage infrastructure technologies that can support complex and heterogeneous IT infrastructure while working standardization and automation opportunities.
  • Take part in IT strategic planning activities that reflect the future vision of the organization.
  • Introduce cost-effective best practices related to the business needs of the organization.
  • Align processes to ITSM practices and participate in process definition and review efforts.
  • Research and recommend solutions that circumvent potential technical issues.
  • Provide high levels of customer service as it pertains to enterprise infrastructure.

    • identify and resolve potential problems before they adversely affect the business.

  • Review and document key performance metrics and indicators to ensure high performance of IT service delivery systems.
  • IT service vendor management, conduct timely meetings with assigned vendors, make sure agreed SLAs are met.
  • Document IT procedures and system builds.
  • Perform and administer Backup Recovery, DR testing and BCP efforts.
  • Support Arconic Compliance activities by performing annual system testing for adherence to IT System and Audit requirements, assists audit teams and internal audit teams as required.
  • Work with Arconic OT and site locations as needed.

Key Objectives

  • Architect & design infrastructure, system, and monitoring solutions for Arconic IT.
  • Ensure backup and disaster recovery solutions meet RPO/RTO SLA for all workloads.
  • Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of infrastructure development efforts and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness, infrastructure flexibility, and scalability.
  • Develop, document, make recommendations, and communicate plans for investing in IT infrastructure, including analysis of cost reduction opportunities.
  • Participate in proof-of-concept tests to assist in defining technology direction and enabling business strategy.
  • Communicate and validate program architecture with Infrastructure Team, Project Management Office, and other organizational teams.
  • Perform end-to-end technical design, develop infrastructure blueprints for the implementation of new solutions, create impact analyses, and design modifications to existing systems to support new solutions.
  • Maintain a common documentation library of standardized procedures and configurations.
  • Provide top level of support for incidents and problems in designated areas of expertise.
  • Facilitate IT/OT integration efforts. 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. 
  • 5 years’ minimum experience in a similar role. 
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S> person as a U.S> citizen, U.S> Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field from an accredited institution. 
  • MCSE/ITIL certifications.
  • Experience working with Windows servers, PowerShell, and Active Directory.
  • Experience working with SQL Databases.
  • Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexible, team player, “get-it-done” personality.
  • Ability to organize and plan work independently.
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams.
  • Advanced knowledge of information technology systems, infrastructure, and operations.
  • Strong relationship skills and ability to interact with internal and external customers, other analysts, and management.
