Senior Legal Counsel

Job Responsibilities:

Draft, review, advise, and negotiate a wide range of contracts including supplier agreements, payment, employment, and services agreements, as well as other legal documents arising from the day-to-day operation of the business. Advise internal business and product teams on regulatory issues, commercial transaction structure, and company guidelines and policies. Assist in resolving legal disputes and litigations, including but not limited to intellectual property, commercial contracts, and consumer complaints. Oversee and manage the company’s compliance matters, ensuring adherence to laws and regulations. Handle and Manage government relationship:

  • Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with government agencies and industry associations.
  • manage and respond to government inquiries and requests.
  • Monitor changes in relevant laws, regulations, and policies; analyze their impact on the company's business and provide compliance recommendations; and coordinate internal resources to ensure the company's operations comply with government regulations and policy requirements.

Manage external counsel engagements and liaise with them on a project or regulatory basis.

Qualifications and Experience:

A law degree from Taiwan law school, LLM/JD preferred but not required Be qualified to practice law in Taiwan and/or the United States. 7+ years' legal experience, including 1-3 year experience in a law firm (preferably an international law firm) Have a Passion for technology and e-commerce industry and enjoy a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Strong people skills and teamwork spirit. Well-organized and able to manage and execute numerous projects simultaneously promptly. Fluent Mandarin and English reading and writing skills in legal documents are essential.
