TechCrunch is looking for an Editorial Operations Coordinator for our newsroom. You are:
A voracious consumer of tech news, especially if it pertains to startups and private companies
Writerly – you don’t live to write but you’re an adept writer who can easily create compelling, digestible short pieces, both directly for readers and in service of the writing staff, whose work you will help support
Collaborative and can work easily with writers, as well as other personalities across TechCrunch, including our product and audience development teams
Exceptionally organized
Comfortable around analytics software and spreadsheets
Versatile: you can toggle between tasks throughout the day
Responsibilities:
Monitoring for news-driven updates to evergreens
Working closely with writers and editors to update evergreen stories on a regular schedule
Pitching and writing “in brief” coverage of interesting news and other items from around the web
Tracking team’s editorial progress for weekly status meetings
Onboarding new TC team users so that they understand the basics of our Wordpress publishing solution and other tools related to publication, including managing all subscriptions for all writers within policy
Delivering newsroom requests to Product/Engineering and monitor progress, including prioritizing and documenting requirements related to the publishing process
Troubleshooting any publishing-related issues as they arise on behalf of the newsroom team; creating, organizing and executing all training related to Wordpress and other publishing tools
Maintaining and managing the edit team’s subscriptions to other editorial and software products
Flagging corrections emails sent to TechCrunch to appropriate editors
Other duties as needed, possibly involving social media, video, podcasting, events, and more
Qualifications:
4+ years managing workflow, content and users in a WordPress CMS, and a demonstrable understanding of how an organization manages content
Highly skilled with content analytics, be in Parse.ly, Marfeel or other
Experienced sourcing solutions for or writing requirements for content projects and tools
Familiarity with tech media, events and the tech industry at large
Experience working with geographically dispersed teams and external partners
Strong interest in and working knowledge of technology products, companies, people, and trends
Collaborative mindset and eagerness to learn from experienced writers and editors
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
Journalism degree or direct experience preferred (internships, student publications)

) page to learn more.The compensation for this position ranges from $56,250.00 - $117,500.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
