MANAGER - EXECUTIVE MEETINGS SALES Job Details | The Venetian Las Vegas
Position Overview:
The primary responsibility of the Manager - Executive Meetings Sales is to qualify convention incoming business opportunities (leads) (21-150 peak rooms) resulting in closing contracts to maximize revenues, drive customer loyalty to meet goals. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Meet and exceed quotas and financial goals set by Management.
- Effectively qualify inbound leads to meet the defined business parameters resulting in closing contracts through effective contract negotiations that align with meeting company’s financial objectives, maximize revenues and drive customer loyalty.
- Qualify and responds timely to assigned leads and follow through on commitments.
- Maintain account base of business through on-property customer meetings identifying repeat business opportunities.
- Partner with the customer to understand needs and meeting objectives, effectively position the unique value proposition of the property to align with customers’ needs to close business and meet financial objectives.
- Understand the overall market – competitors’ strengths and weaknesses and how to sell against them.
- Ensure that business is turned over properly and in a timely manner for quality service delivery.
- Accurately forecast and report sales pipeline.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
- Regularly and independently engage with cross-functional teammates to understand product and services available to Groups and how the Hotel differentiates itself from our competitive set.
- Participate in site inspections, entertainment, networking events, training (as assigned) midweek, evenings and weekends as needed.
- Support other members of the Sales Team as needed.
- Manage effectively within defined sales roles, internal sales processes and departmental/company policies and procedures.
- Document all pertinent daily Sales activities, cataloging account and client information accurately as defined by department SOP’s.
- Effectively work within the structure of the defined Sales processes to evaluate and execute sales contracts.
- Safety is an essential function of this job.
- Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- 21 years of age.
- Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Alcohol Awareness Card and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
- 5 years of experience in hotel sales, marketing, guest services, or front desk.
- Demonstrated experience in property operations.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, Word and Power Point.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
- Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to:
- Lift or carry 20 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
- Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
- Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
- Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
- Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
- Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
