Fixed Assets and Project Accounting Expert

Arconic is currently in search of Fixed Assets and Project Accounting Expert to join our Resource Unit Team in Székesfehérvár with a fixed-term contract.

The purpose of the Fixed Assets and Project Accounting Expert role is to oversee the owned Property Accounting activities and to support the locations in their attempt to meet Arconic Corporate accounting and financial requirements. Working together with team members of an external outsourcing company to ensure process quality standards are maintained.

This position is responsible for the coordination and control of defined Property Accounting activities, development and sharing key related knowledge across the locations and an external outsourcing company and ensuring compliance with Arconic Financial Management Handbook, SLA agreement and SOPs.

Major Activities/Key Challenges:

  • Oversee the general Fixed Asset and Project accounting functions and perform month end closing process for complex operating locations. Works with Location to meet with company KPIs.
  • Usage and maintenance of company accounting, control and reporting systems (Oracle, Orbit, EPM, Finario, RST, ASP, etc.).
  • Calculate and upload journal entries, book accruals.
  • Compile and submit financial reports on behalf of the business units or locations (month end analysis reports and other ad hoc requests from the location, business unit or corporate finance functions, reports for tax, for audits).
  • Ensure accounting is performed according to the department's defined standards and the work is completed by defined deadlines.
  • Maintain active and frequent communication with location accounting representatives and business unit personnel and regularly share this information with team members and manager.
  • Solve problems to root cause to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure that account reconciliations are completed as per deadlines, work with locations to solve account reconciliation differences.
  • Complexity of general ledger ranges from routine, recurring and with moderate to high complexity transactions and reconciliations\\analysis.
  • Coordinate/lead certain project works (e.g. system testing, reporting etc.).

Qualification:

  • 5+ years of experience gained in accounting/financial areas 
  • Secondary school certificate specialized at finance and accounting / degree in finance or accounting obtained at a college or university or CPA certificate.
  • English and Hungarian language skills. Additional European language knowledge may be needed depending on the language requirements of the Arconic location handled.

Essential Knowledge/Skills:

  • Thorough knowledge of Chart of Accounts and Arconic Financial Management Handbook in his/her area of responsibility. 
  • Knowledge of the accounting standards. 
  • Knowledge of integrated financial software.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Financial Modules.
  • Computer skills.
  • Good problem solving and communication ability.
  • Customer focus.
