Internal Communications Intern – Consumer and Ads Businesses

A Little About Us

We’re looking for an Internal Communications Intern to help support storytelling efforts for our Consumer and Ads businesses. In this role, you’ll work on crafting clear, concise content that informs and engages our global workforce.

A Lot About You

You have the ability to create clear, engaging content and are eager to suggest creative ideas and solutions. You possess a genuine curiosity, willingness to learn, and ask questions. You also have strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Content Creation: Develop written and visual content for newsletters, articles, and internal updates, focusing on key initiatives and achievements.

• Support Internal Campaigns: Assist in planning and executing communication campaigns around product launches and business updates.

• Employee Stories: Work with teams to highlight employee experiences that reflect our culture and values.

• Feedback & Analysis: Gather and analyze feedback on internal communications to improve engagement and effectiveness.

• Event Support: Help coordinate internal events like town halls and team meetings.

• Administrative Tasks: Manage content calendars, coordinate with teams, and maintain communication channels.

What You’ll Learn

• Practical experience in internal communications within a fast-paced business environment.

• Direct involvement in storytelling for our Consumer and Ads teams.

• Exposure to how our business units operate and how communication supports them.

• How internal and external communications partner together to support and advance business goals.

Requirements

• Currently studying Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.

• Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail; writing samples are recommended

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite; familiarity with content creation tools is a plus.

The compensation for this position ranges from $24-$52/hr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. Yahoo provides industry leading benefits for our interns including 401k plan, company holidays, and Summer Fridays. Eligibility requirements apply.

Yahoo has a high degree of flexibility around employee location and hybrid working. In fact, our flexible-hybrid approach to work is one of the things our employees rave about. Most roles don’t require specific regular patterns of in-person office attendance.
