Transportation Specialist
Job Purpose:
The Freight Specialist is responsible for analysing and reporting on a significant budget of over £12m p.a. for freight services. This individual is tasked with ensuring that the business monitors carrier service levels and reports exceptions. Ensuring that all freight invoicing is correct at all times. They will support day to day service management, query resolution and management reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Provision of quality management information
- Completion and quality assurance of freight KPI’s (i.e. trackers: Cisco, Sony, Hot Lamps)
- Working closely with the management team to continuously improve process to improve quality and reduce cost
- Reporting of operations to exceed goals and targets (productivity, quality, customer facing SLA’s, Cost – resource and freight cost)
- Maintain, develop and measure proper set of internal KPIs, SLAs, cost (tracking/control)
- Participation in project management
- Participation in annual planning processes (Log. Cost incl. Freight cost)
- Implementation of innovation
- Communication and close cooperation with key internal and external partners (internal sales org., carriers, customers etc.).
- Service levels within target; on time delivery, delivery accuracy
- After sales queries resolved within SLA
Knowledge Skills and Experience:
- Detailed understanding of Operational Processes
- Detailed knowledge and experience of planning within a large fast moving operation
- Analytical thinking
- Knowledge of SAP as advantage, MS Office
- System knowledge within logistics
- Advance Excel skills
- Experience in logistics / operations at least 3-5 years
- Knowledge of databases, SAP BW is an advantage
