As part of the Video Player & Experiences team you will own player features and areas of the Android or iOS Video SDK that will impact millions of users.

We’ve had successful experiences with interns and expect that we’ll give you plenty of mentoring.We are exploring exciting ways to deal with software complexity and we want your help!

Your Day

• Develop end-to-end interactive video experiences or focus on client side interactive video development (depending on skillset).

• Responsible for product definition contribution, functional design specs, development and delivering major new features in current and future products.

• Performing code reviews for your peers where you will be learning from and contributing to a collaborative working model.

• Recommending alternative approaches to solving complex problems and utilizing new technology to achieve goals.

• Tackle hard engineering and user experience problems and solve them in an elegant and seamless manner.

• Work with engineering team members to explore and create interesting solutions while sharing knowledge amongst the team.​

Minimum Qualifications:

• Show us that you’ve absorbed your recent training.

• Be able to code and problem solve.

• Be eager to learn more.

• Strong foundation in Computer Science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design optimized for embedded systems.

• Fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, and problem solving.

• Pursuing BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience/School Projects in building applications on Android, iOS or web platforms.

• Experience with Android and iOS Platform.

• Debugging skills using command line, adb, Android Studio or Xcode.

• Experience working with ExoPlayer (Android) or AVPlayer (iOS)

• Familiarity with video streaming protocols like HLS, DASH

•  Experience with unit testing technologies such as Mockito, WireMock, Kiwi, Robolectric or XCTest framework.

The compensation for this position ranges from $45,760.00 - $135,200.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives. Yahoo has a high degree of flexibility around employee location and hybrid working. In fact, our flexible-hybrid approach to work is one of the things our employees rave about.
