Shutterfly is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join their team! 

What You’ll Do Here:

  • Author, design, create and improve continuous integration and continuous delivery capabilities for the Shutterfly enterprise to leverage and improve build times.
    • Improve automated feedback to developers about the quality of their commits (code coverage, static analysis, SAST, etc.)
    • Find ways to measure and improve on lead time, deployment frequency, change failure rate, and mean time to repair for internal teams
  • Implement automation to enforce policies and governance and educate internal teams on the same. Special focus on CI/CD technologies, dependency management and source control.
    • Hold internal teams accountable for failing builds and deployments
  • Design, build, and maintain centralized software delivery technologies
    • Respond to outages of centrally managed software delivery technologies
    • Assist in creation and maintenance of standard Docker images and AMIs
    • Implement gates in CI/CD pipelines based on integrations with static analysis tools.
  • Provide technical support for internal development teams, and during emergency escalations

The Skills You’ll Bring:

  • 10+ years total professional experience, including at least 3 years as a software engineer
  • Must have expert experience with immutable deployment and infrastructure as code patterns
  • Expert experience with operating large scale Jenkins instances with 99.9% availability
  • Expert experience with containers (Docker)
  • Significant experience working in continuous, zero downtime deployment environments
  • Significant experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes/ECS) and microservice architectures
  • Extensive experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS
  • Extensive experience with git-based workflows (GitOps)
  • Strong experience working in Linux/command line environment

It is helpful, but not required to have:

  • Need to be comfortable navigating various programming languages and runtimes: Java, Groovy, NodeJS, PHP, Python, Ruby, Perl preferred
  • Need to be comfortable with: Maven, Makefile, Bash, Ansible, Packer, Terraform
  • Need to be comfortable with debugging through remote observability tools such as Splunk, SignalFx, Grafana
  • Familiarity with Cloud security practices or Dev SecOps is a plus

The compensation package for this role is based on multiple factors, such as job level, responsibilities, location, and candidate experience. The base pay ranges included below are specific to the locations listed, and may not be applicable to other locations.  

California: [$112,750-159,500]
Connecticut, New York, and Rhode Island: [$112,750-146,000]
Colorado and Washington: [$112,750-135,250]
Nevada: [$106,000-159,500]
