Conemaugh Nason Medical Center is seeking a Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant assists with the planning, coordination and administration of general accounting activities of the organization.

Conemaugh Nason Medical Center is a 45-bed hospital that serves rural and suburban populations in Roaring Spring, Altoona, and parts of Blair, Bedford, and Huntingdon counties. Job Requirements

Essential Functions:

Prepare and post monthly journal entries and statistics accurately and timely.

Prepare supporting schedules in order to analyze general ledger.

Record inter-company activity and prepare invoices monthly between entities and third parties.

Participate in financial statement audits including year-end closing of the general ledger and preparation of audit schedules.

Prepare supporting schedules and analysis as requested by Management Team.

Respond to department leader requests regarding monthly expenses.

Assists with payroll by distributing paystubs and paychecks that are to the hospital.

Prepare and report daily statistics.

Participates in developing departmental goals, objectives, and systems.

Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.

Attends all mandatory trainings and completes all required Life Talent education assignments within a timely manner. Keeps updated regarding Medical Center changes through meeting attendance and review of posted information; attends briefs, debriefs, and huddles.

Abides by and references the Employee Handbook and other pertinent facility policies, including clinical, non-clinical, safety, and infection control.

Job Requirements:

Education

Required: Associates Degree in Accounting/Finance

Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance

Ability to apply technical and professional accounting skills.

Excellent written and oral communication skills and listening skills.
