Position Summary:
Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
Reports to: Senior Nursing Director
Minimum Education
Associate’s degree in Nursing or RN Diploma - Required
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing - Preferred
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Computer proficiency required.
Required Skills
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) (American Heart Association) - Required to be current upon hire
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (American Heart Association) - Required within 6 months of hire
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (American Heart Association) - Preferred, Required within 6 months, if floating to PEDS unit to care for Pediatric patients.
Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) - Preferred
Trauma Nurse Core Certification - Preferred, if floating to ED
Required Skills
Licenses: State of Tennessee or Multi-State Registered Nurse licensure - Required
Minimum Work Experience
Must have a minimum of 2 years hospital nursing experience. Must be high functioning Med/Surg nurse. CCU and ED experience preferred.
