Primary functions:

Coordinate and liaise with governmental agencies representing Lumileds with regards to compliance with environmental requirements.  Coordinate and liaise with Philips corporate regarding compliance to internal/external customer’s environmental and sustainability requirements. Supervise Philips site waste (solids, liquid, and gaseous) programs.  Supervise Philips site recyclable materials program

What You Will Do:

  1. Ensure there are zero excursions/ non-compliances in management of waste streams (WWTP, Fume Scrubber, Solvent Scrubber, etc)
  2. Supervise scrap disposal operation.  Develop continuous improvement programs to maximize return on recoverable materials.
  3. Conduct monthly environmental monitoring and maintain records.
  4. Compile monthly scrap operations reports with focus on reduction of waste to landfill.
  5. Interface with Manufacturing and other departments on matters related to environmental and sustainability programs.
  6. Manage chemical use approval and safety programs.
  7. Manage MSDS Library.
  8. Implement a monitoring and controlling system for new chemical introductions to the site.  Inclusive of establishing TLVs on exposure, proper handling, and storage/disposal methods for all approved chemicals and effluents.
  9. Responsible for approval of new/relocated equipment requests with regards to chemical use, and effluent management.
  10. Conducts specialized technical field inspections and investigations to determine compliance with relevant environmental health laws and regulations.  Provide current information on requirements of applicable environmental health laws and discuss correction of any deficiencies identified.
  11. Assist in preparation, documentation and record keeping for quality and environmental audit programs
  12. Develop and manage ISO 14001 program
  13. Develop and manage OSHAS 18001 program
  14. Coordinate with corporate entities with regards to REACH, RoHS, and other internal/external programs related to environment and sustainability.
  15. Support PLLM with regards to corporate Ecovision reporting program.
  16. Act as a back-up for safety and health officer.
  17. Complies with environment, security, health and safety requirements

  3. Ability to multitask with excellent communication skills as well as matured personality
  4. Ability to lead and organize Safety training activities

Education (Minimum Level)

  • Bachelor’s/ Master’s

Field of Study

  • IT/Software or computer science knowledge

Licenses / Certifications

  • Registered with DOSH as a Safety and Health officer
