Ventia has an excellent opportunity for hardworking and motivated individuals to join their Digital Networks Infrastructure (DNI) team based in Auckland

ABOUT THE ROLE


You will be working as part of a team responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of ccommunication equipment, cabling and switching equipment inside client premises. This may include the following:

  • CCTV, WAP Installation and Maintenance
  • WiFi Site surveys
  • Comms cabinet and Router Installations and Maintenance
  • Indoor/Outdoor Horizontal and Vertical cabling of Copper and Fibre
  • Installation, commissioning and repair of appropriate data cabling

ABOUT YOU

As the successful candidate, you will need to have proven Outside Plant experience for a minimum of 2 years after training.  Experience within the NZ telecommunications network is desirable but not essential.

You will also need to have the demonstrated ability to work independently as well as with other team members.

Other experience required:

  • Basic Handyman skills; Skilled in using powered and hand tools
  • Knowledge of CCTV & WAP Technology
  • Knowledge of ITC technology-CCNA, ISO
  • Knowledge of Structured Cabling Copper & Fibre

Education and qualifications:

  • Class 1 & 2 NZ Drivers Licence
  • Basic understanding of Ethernet, IP, WiFi
  • Telecommunications technician Certification Level 3 will be beneficial
  • In service Training for Fibre will be beneficial
  • Strong computer skills (experience in O365 )
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills

Due to the multi-disciplinary nature of the role, you will be required to feel comfortable with a large degree of work flexibility


This position may require the incumbent to work independently; working in outage time and may require overnight on weekdays, and day/night work on weekends (including Sunday)
