Job Description

Support Center - Irving

Providing a safe and secure working environment for all corporate office associates. Also identifying and reacting to any possible business abuse or loss of company assets.

Major Activities

  • Physical Security - Maintain a specified level of corporate office physical security by closely monitoring associate and non-associate entry/exits, performing exterior building inspections on a regular basis, monitoring appropriate key and lock controls and conducting routine facility inspections. Maintain operation of CCTV, panic hardware, fire and burglar alarms, controlled entry and exits and access control systems, etc.  Ensure proper company policy is being enforced regarding removal of company property or sample products from any building.
  • Access Control - Maintain control of all buildings’ entrances and secured areas via access control software.  Maintain associate, contractor and visitor identification badges.  Comply with all internal and external auditing standards to include PCI.  Ensure all visitors are properly checked in, while ensuring all associates have a visible identification badge.
  • Service Levels - Ensures the highest level of customer service for associates, vendors and contractors at all times.  Ensures timely check-in for all Michaels visitors and alerts proper associate upon their arrival.  From time to time, will assist other departments with projects.
  • Accident/Incident Investigations - Document and communicate to the appropriate parties any incident, injury or illness related to the corporate office buildings or premises.  Assist Investigations team in online investigations.
  • Emergency Procedures - Assist in emergency preparedness procedures as well as any needed building evacuations. Must be or will become trained by supervisor in basic first aid, CPR and AED usage.
  • Company Property – Ensure proper company policy is being enforced regarding removal of company property or sample products from any building. 
  • Policy and Procedures - Adheres to and abides by company policies and procedures and sets an example for all other associates.  Enforces and notifies appropriate corporate office personnel of serious violations of said policies and procedures.  
  • Other duties as assigned
     

Minimum Education  

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

Minimum Special Certifications or technical skills

  • Extensive computer skills, including access control software and Microsoft Office

Minimum Type of experience the job requires    

  • 1 year
  • Multi-building security experience

Preferred Special Certifications or technical skills    

  • First Aid, CPR & AED certified (If not certified, Michaels will provide training)
  • LPC / LPQ preferred
