An exciting opportunity with our partners at Watersure has become available for the position of Communication and Management Assistant, reporting to the Plant Director.

Located one and a half hours from the centre of Melbourne, Watersure is a thriving business in Wonthaggi on the beautiful Bass Coast. Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Victorian Desalination Project we strive to achieve our Zero Harm objective of protecting our people, assets, and environment. About the role
Reporting to the Plant Director, the Communication and Management Assistant role is a full-time permanent position that will contribute to the management of community involvement and administration support of the Victorian Desalination Project.
The successful applicant will have a growth mindset, be focused on teamwork and collaboration, and driven to build lasting relationships across the organisation.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Development and implementation of team communication and engagement strategies
  • Implementation of Watersure internal and external communication
  • Administration of contractual compliance regarding community and landowner engagement
  • Administration of Watersure Corporate Social Responsibility activities including (but not limited to) scholarship programmes, vacation work opportunities, work experience placements, schools’ education support programmes
  • Administration, coordination, and support to the Senior Management Team
  • Arrange and assist in coordinating meetings, company events and conferences
  • Preparation of presentations, reports, agendas, and correspondence


About you

Our ideal candidate will have formal qualifications in Communications or Education (or equivalent). Ideally, they will have a minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role in a comparable environment. This is a site-based position, with some workplace flexibility available in accordance with business requirements.

  • Stakeholder management experience
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to professionally represent the Company in any forum
  • Strong communication, influencing and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate well to others at all levels of the organisation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer literacy skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Continuous improvement and flexible mindset
