Support Center - Irving

The Supervisor - Targeted Marketing is responsible for supervising and executing Michaels' email marketing. High-level responsibilities include the day-to-day supervision of the email life cycle while collaborating with multiple business owners.

Major Activities

  • Project manage and execute all aspects of high-volume, multi-version email campaigns with a customer-first mindset
  • Flawlessly execute highly complex, automated dynamic emails & drive efficiencies by leveraging content automation
  • Leads the execution of day-to-day operational tasks, including content planning and creative briefing, within a highly collaborative, cross-functional team
  • Supervises internal and external partners to deliver changes and tests final content to ensure a positive consumer experience
  • Understand internal connections & impacts, take a proactive approach, and make appropriate recommendations, leading to decreased errors
  • Supervise, train, and mentor at least one Targeted Marketing Specialist who executes his/her own campaigns; supervises specialist’s work to ensure accuracy & timeliness
  • Participate in/contribute to annual email planning, including leading specific initiatives that contribute to our objectives & key results (OKRs)
  • Leverage analytic data and insights to make recommendations on how to improve email campaigns
  • Seeks to learn about emerging email tech that can improve the customer experience
  • Proactively learn about customer behavior and engage in understanding reporting and customer analytics that might influence email channel improvements
  • Keep current on email best practices & trends, such as data capture, relevant customer content, campaign analysis, and deliverability
  • Cover a variety of duties and tasks on a daily basis or as assigned

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, or relevant experience

Minimum Type of Experience the Job Requires

  • 5+ years of Email experience (development/execution) within a marketing team environment, preferably in retail
  • Experience managing high-volume, multi-version, and dynamic email campaigns

  • Ability to problem solve, manage multiple projects, and achieve successful business results rapidly
  • Superior project management skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent team player with the ability to bring innovative ideas to the organization
  • Ability to coordinate projects with both internal and external partners
  • Ability to work independently and with ambiguity on multiple projects simultaneously with rapidly evolving dynamics and flexibility to readily adapt to changing business needs with a focus on generating results
  • Self-motivated team member, able to thrive in a fast-paced, result and deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
  • Certifications with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or Movable Ink are a plus
  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Movable Ink
