Purpose:

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated AVP Technology Professional Development to join our team in a corporate environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing career development, technical upskilling, and talent management to individuals and teams within our IT department. The ideal candidate will be able to inspire and motivate individuals to reach their full potential while fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement. This position is an AVP level role and will report to the SVP of IT.

Accountabilities:

  • Collaborate with IT management and Human Capital to design and implement career development plans and technical upskilling programs for individuals and teams in Cloud, data analytics, artificial Intelligence, software development, API integrations, and more.

  • Provide coaching and mentoring to individuals and teams to improve their technical skills and productivity.

  • Facilitate technical knowledge-sharing sessions, workshops, and other learning opportunities to promote a culture of continuous learning.

  • Conduct regular technical knowledge assessments to identify strengths and areas for improvement for each team member and create individual development plans accordingly.

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in software development and use that knowledge to inform training programs and career development plans.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with external training providers to ensure access to relevant and high-quality training opportunities for IT staff.

  • Develop and maintain a network of industry professionals to stay informed about industry trends and best practices.

  • Demonstrate an influential relationship measured by feedback from IT management; empowering others, leading inclusively and engaging others                                      


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.

  • 8+ years of experience as a software developer, software development team lead, or similar role.

  • Overall experience must include 3+ years in a leadership role

  • In-depth knowledge of software development methodologies, programming languages, and tools.

  • Proven experience in career development, technical upskilling, or talent management within IT.

  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate individuals and teams.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
