Job Description
Job Title: Engineer I,
Department: Engineering
Reports to: Engineering Manager
FLSA status: Exempt
Prepared by: Human Resources
Summary
Provide engineering support
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Design and Develop products, processes and systems by:
Applying knowledge of product design and manufacturing processes
Developing/applying product performance specifications
Developing/applying process acceptance criteria
Designing and performing product /system testing
2. Champions innovative engineering technology by:
Evaluating new technologies
Driving technology initiatives
Performing research and development
Establishing next-generation engineering solutions
3. Applies and maintains current knowledge of engineering tools/methods/techniques to meet technical needs, including:
Appropriate usage of engineering tools (e.g. PC, CAD, FMEA)
Problem solving/resolution techniques
Continuous improvement/cost reduction (e.g. Kanban, Kaizen)
Environmental Health and Safety issues.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Engineering or applicable discipline from four-year college or university
Two plus years work experience in a related field.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; SAP Inventory software; Manufacturing software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. Work Environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

floor, safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection and safety shoes must be worn.
Environmental aspects of this facility include use of electrical energy, paper/paper products, generating waste paper, scrap steel, steel offal, greases, oils, lubricants, etc. and the proper disposal of said products.
