Yahoo Finance is looking for an Executive Producer! The Executive Producer will be a leader in the newsroom who will supervise the work of others. They will manage a team of direct and indirect reports to include writers, producers, and editors.

This role is required to be onsite 5 days a week, Monday through Friday at our NYC office.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supervising day to day work activities of the live show team, reporting directly to the Director of Live

  • Produce timely and compelling newscasts that are editorially and visually dynamic, including content in the field and news specials. Develop and assemble content on multiple platforms.

  • Gets to play a role in the revamping, launching our new flagship programming for the morning shows

  • Guide, teach, and push members of the Creative teams in developing concepts and be part of the creative process from strategy to concepts to execution

  • Liaises with Producers, On-Air Talent, Assignment Editors, and Writers to predict, promote, and plan weekly content 

  • Oversees the production of the entire morning show from the Control room

  • Supervises editorial content for the live finance news show

  • Manages the entire morning show production team 

  • Works with producers and writers to finetune stories and headlines

  • Write and update market-focused banners throughout the show, including the last hour of trading

  • Reads content and identifies potential errors in spelling, punctuation, and grammar


 

Qualifications:

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Journalism, communications, or equivalent work experience

  • You have a minimum of 5 years of television production, with a finance news background

  • You have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Line Producer

  • You have the ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, dead-line-driven environment

  • You're accustomed to working in a team and collaborating with all levels within the organization

  • You have proven solid writing skills and editorial judgment

The compensation for this position ranges from $90,750.00 - $188,750.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
