The Sr. Systems Engineer (IBM-English Caribbean) for the CCA (Caribbean Central America) Organization will act as an expert and trusted advisor who provides guidance for transforming legacy implementations to modern hybrid multi-cloud solutions.

This role will work closely with reseller partners and their end customers, the sales organization, and other business units to ensure consulting engagements are successful.

Promotes product awareness, provides presales technical support, solution diagrams, proposals, presentations, demos, and training to grow the sales of a vendor's product line.

Travels to perform and receive training, attend trade shows and other marketing events.

Under the guidance of Systems Engineering Management, establishes and develops solid business relationships with TD SYNNEX's Vendor Management and the vendor to execute marketing activities to increase product awareness and provide technical leadership in sales pursuits.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide phone and e-mail support in accordance with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Provide technical solutions and configuration design assistance to customers and sales on specified product line(s).

  • Participate in trade shows, seminars, trainings, and other marketing events.

  • Provide support to the Sales and Marketing organizations to increase vendor and product awareness.

  • Provide internal and external technical presentations, demos, and training.

  • Report on key metrics as designated by product line(s) of responsibility and distribute monthly update to SE Manager, Product Marketing Team, and vendor representative(s).

  • Log activities in Jira in accordance with TD SYNNEX's guidelines.

  • Assist in updating TD SYNNEX's systems and tools with accurate technical data on specific product line(s).

  • Assist in determining your individual developmental needs and suggest specific actions to obtain necessary training and/or work experience.

  • Develop and obtain approval on Quarterly Vendor Objectives (QVO) outlining goals and objectives to support vendor's marketing strategy to grow sales.

  • Develop tactical plan and perform associated duties necessary to support QVO.

  • Attend scheduled department and cross-functional team meetings.

  • Proactively seek and participate in cross-training activities.

  • Provide non-technical presentations and training to support staff on soft skills and professional skills.

  • Provide mentoring to Systems Engineers and Associate System Engineers.

  • Participate in departmental projects in senior leadership/ownership role including the creation, management, and implementation of departmental projects.

  • Identify processes and procedures needing improvement and suggest and implement resolutions.

  • Assist Systems Engineering Management in assessing candidates for positions within the department.

  • Assist in determining developmental needs of other Systems Engineers and Associate System Engineers and suggest specific actions to provide necessary training and/or work experience.

  • Provide technical and non-technical input to team members, project leaders, and management, as appropriate.

  • Meets attendance and punctuality standards.

  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

  • 3+ Years of relevant work experience.

  • College or university degree in Systems Engineering or Related field of study.

  • Able to execute instructions and to request clarification when needed.

  • Able to create and conduct formal presentations.

  • Able to quickly learn new systems and technology using self-study and other available learning tools.

  • Able to use relevant computer system applications at an advanced level.

  • Native or fluent English.

Other Education / Certifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Windows and Linux server and network operating environments.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of datacenter infrastructure technologies such as enterprise servers, storage systems (SAN, NAS, NVMe, FC, iSCSI, SDS, etc.), data protection, and related applications.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of virtualization datacenter technologies such as vSphere, Hyper-V, KVM and container platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes and OpenShift.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of hybrid multi-cloud solutions such as AWS, Azure, GCP, IBM Cloud, etc.

  • Knowledge in cybersecurity, AI data analytics, and/or IoT desired.

  • IBM Certifications desired.

Working Conditions:

  • Professional, office environment.

  • Consistent non-standard work or overtime as business requires.

  • On-call availability required as necessary.

  • Some travel required.
