Job Description

Support Center - Irving

The Sr. Developer will be responsible for design and development. Must be able to work independently to function as a liaison between the business community and the technical community in support of development of code for the application. Responsibilities include translating business requirements into specific system requirements and providing technical knowledge, leadership and support. Also support the Business team in getting day-to-day users issues resolved on timely manner.

Major Activities
Development:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements, user stories, and design mockups.

  • Translate design concepts and wireframes into high-quality, responsive user interfaces using React and related technologies.

  • Develop and maintain reusable UI components using Chakra UI, Styled-Components, and other appropriate libraries.

  • Implement state management using Redux to ensure efficient data flow and consistent application behavior.

  • Utilize Axios for efficient data fetching and management of API requests and responses.

  • Apply your expertise in Lodash to handle data manipulation and transformation effectively.

  • Leverage Node.js (V16+) for server-side logic and building scalable, high-performance applications.

  • Implement server-side rendering (SSR), client-side rendering (CSR), and incremental static regeneration (ISR) using Next.js.

  • Write clean, well-documented, and performant code that adheres to coding standards and best practices.

  • Optimize application performance for maximum speed and scalability.

  • Collaborate with backend developers to integrate front-end and back-end functionalities seamlessly.

  • Stay up to date with the latest UI development trends, tools, and technologies.

  • Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and ensure knowledge sharing across the team.

  • Mentor and guide junior developers, providing technical leadership and fostering skill growth.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and methodologies.

50% • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software

10% • Improve system quality by identifying issues, common patterns and developing standard operating procedures

10% • Enhance applications by identifying opportunities for improvement, make recommendations and design and implement systems

10% • Maintain and improve existing codebases and peer review code changes

5% • Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables

5% • Work with teams to implement technical designs

5% • Investigate and use new technologies where relevant

    Minimum Education

    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or Finance

    Minimum Special Certifications or technical skills

    • Varies based on area functional area supporting

    Minimum Type of experience the job requires

    • 5+ years progressive work experience, within a retail environment
    • 5+ years of technology experience, including troubleshooting and performing root cause analysis of complex IT solutions
    • 3+ years of project management experience

    Other

    • Good understanding of the Retail domain and in store applications
    • Experience in gathering requirements
    • Experienced in documenting business, process and data flows
    • Understanding of systems development life cycle including issue, risk and scope management
    • Understanding of test strategies, test plans and test execution
    • Proficiency developing automated unit tests
    • Complete understanding of the full product development life cycle (design, development and testing)
