Responsibilities
Hands-on development of next-generation tooling and infrastructure for Yahoo! News.
Help to scope, plan, and implement best-in-class software practices, procedures, and delivery.
Contribute to implementation guidelines and execution strategy for your team’s goals.
Collaborate with your peers, product managers, and engineering leaders on new features and enhancements.
Qualifications
Solid experience with architecting, coding and deploying services in AWS or GCP.
Experience architecting backend web applications with popular languages with either Java or Python.
Familiarity with one or more popular frameworks like Spring, Quarkus or FastAPI, Flask.
Knowledge of modern CI/CD systems and methodologies.
Someone who knows how to breakdown a backend service into multiple microservices, and knows microservice communication patterns and best practices.
Predisposition towards testing, instrumentation, and documentation.
You may be required to work on-call to support systems and equipment outside of normal working hours on an assignment basis
