POSITION TITLE: NURSE INTERN II (Non-Exempt)

Primary Function: The Nurse Intern II (NI-I) assist with the patient care specific to the age of the patient population served. The NI-II provides quality care in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with departmental standards of care. The NI-II demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy and goals of the assigned unit and the organization. He/she remains flexible to changing systems and is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practices, and treats staff, physicians, patients and families with consideration and respect.

Job Relationships:

Interrelationships: Must work closely with the medical staff, other units, house supervisors, other department personnel, patients, public, and other outside agencies.

Promotion to: NURSE INTERN III, and Registered Nurse

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

1. High School Diploma or Equivalent
2. REQUIRES ENROLLMENT IN AN ACCREDITED RN OR BSN PROGRAM; MUST BE A STUDENT IN GOOD STANDING; SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF PROGRAM’S FIRST YEAR.
3. Verbal and written ability to give comprehend information and present ideas.
4. Maintain harmonious relationships with nursing personnel, medical staff, hospital administration, and all hospital departments
