JOB DESCRIPTION

This position will implement the predictive maintenance strategy across Arconic manufacturing processes with strong ties to the use of the latest technologies and equipment. Lead role for driving continual improvement and reliability as well as excellence in existing and future manufacturing systems.  The incumbent will also serve as a key resource for location growth in automation and integration with enterprise systems.

  • Work with maintenance and production teams to improve equipment reliability, maintainability, and sustainable production output by utilizing Preventive and Predictive maintenance tools and technologies as well as analyzing equipment failures
  • Evaluate existing manufacturing systems and executes actions to drive safety, productivity, quality, and cost improvements
  • Plan and coordinate events for projects and large Preventive Maintenance events
  • Provide hands-on technical support / trouble shooting to solve problems of root cause
  • Read and understand process sheets and blue prints
  • Develop and maintain maintenance documents such as FMEA, Control Plan, standardized downtime reporting and multilevel equipment structure used for all these plus cost reporting.  Develop documentation such as Std PM, PdM Plans, etc.

The primary purpose of this position is to assist in developing and executing maintenance strategies which strive towards predictive approaches to improve equipment health via Smart Manufacturing.

The candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Thermography
  • Structural NDE (VT, MT, UT)
  • Vibration analysis and motor alignment
  • Ultrasonic leak detection
  • Oil analysis
  • Hydraulic circuits and troubleshooting
  • Support equipment OEE targets
  • Front line problem solving and FMEA
  • Ability to identify and prioritize return seeking projects that reduce unplanned downtime and maintenance touch time
  • Coordinate and schedule equipment maintenance plans along with production and maintenance planning
  • Minimize the risk of disruptions caused by systems malfunctions
  • Identify potential downtime issues through testing and FMEA; develop solutions and execute to completion
  • Identify potential energy savings through cost/feasibility analysis.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing maintenance experience
  • Must be willing to work off-shift when needed
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. 
  • This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. §730, et seq.) and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Qualified candidate must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the relevant government agency. Business demands may require employer to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Up-to-date knowledge of state-of-the-art industrial automation technology, ie MET, EECT, Robotics, including integration work
  • Experience in implementing reliability-focused strategy
  • Experienced at blueprint and schematic reading and interpretations
  • Experience with data-driven equipment performance monitoring.
  • Reliability Certifications (CRE, ASQ, SMRP, Life Cycle Institute Programs, etc.)
  • Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance-planning processes (incl. FMEA, Control Plan)
  • Ability to implement and drive changes to the plant reliability program.
  • Ability to work alone or with a team
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Strong focus on safety.
  • A deep knowledge of industrial equipment (forging, robotics, and CNC equipment are a plus), process controls, maintenance planning systems, condition-based monitoring, and TPM.
  • Experience with analytics and predictive technologies for preferred candidates
  • An understanding of equipment maintenance actions within the reliability framework from a data perspective
  • Strong analytic problem solving by developing and using structured approaches to identify root causes and recommend resolutions
  • Project Management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet objectives and key deadlines
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
