Arconic is currently in search of Press Project Manager and Process Engineer to join our Building and Construction Team in Springdale, Arkansas.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • This Position will be responsible for Implementing a New 2750 Ton Extrusion Press within our Springdale Arkansas Facility and driving the long-term productivity of this new asset within the site.      This Project is a key sustainability initiative for the Kawneer and a Key enabler for future success within Springdale Operations.   
  • Project responsibilities such as coordinating engineers and contractors to build machine foundations, complete building modifications, equipment relocations, and new equipment installations and commissioning within a team environment. 
  • Key Objectives:
  • Oversees the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) program for both the office and field work environments including EPC, or similar, contractor and subcontractor activities.  Ensures design is in accordance with EHS laws and regulations applicable to the project and Arconic.

Engineering

  •  Develop and Maintain project spend schedules in coordination with project and program leaders utilizing suppliers and contractors to develop budgets and schedules, manages performance, reports progress, and initiates action to assure program/project objectives and schedules are met and work is performed within budget and according to specifications.  Provides appropriate progress and finance reporting upwardly to the Springdale Lead team routinely.
  • Support Springdale engineering team and contractors with a focus on safe project delivery.
  • Coordinates the final turnover of the project to Operations and develops long-term support and maintenance plans.
  • Assists CoE staff engineers in developing project execution plans, estimating plans, project scope and project strategies in accordance with regulatory requirements, internal procedures, and standards. 
  • Reviews and approves bid tabulations for commitments on all major purchase orders, contracts, and sub-contracts.
  • Develop technical specifications, scopes of work, timelines, and cost breakdown estimates.
  • Ensures scope, design and objectives are defined, best practices and lessons learned reviewed, detailed work plans, schedules, budgets, and procedures are established and implemented.
  • Ensure project is completed safely, within budget, on schedule, and in conformance with appropriate standards, specifications, and applicable regulatory requirements. 
  • Develops PM tasks, AM tasks, frequencies and creates critical spare parts list for crib inventory.
  • Promotes the use of constructability reviews leading up to and during project execution. 
  • Monitors and controls all project commitments to ensure that all work is being performed in accordance with the specifications, drawings, scopes, and budgets. 
  • Participates in regular project meetings to facilitate communication, review progress/performance, discuss issues and drive problem resolution. 
  • Closes out the Project Funding Request.
  • Develops, reviews, and approves project control to measure progress/performance, providing early warning of deviations from plan, and identifying necessary corrective actions.

Process Engineering:

  • Problem-solving support to drive Process and Reliability improvement.
  • Utilize best practices to drive process improvement.
  • Monitor Reliability metrics that drive sustainable reliability improvements.
  • Monitor and Control quality input variables to drive key quality product aspects.
  • Review maintenance plans (PMs), develop maintenance instructions and procedures.
  • Investigate critical failures and quality excursions utilizing appropriate problem-solving methodologies and develop action plans.

Competencies:

  • Possesses passion for learning, strong ownership, and drive for process improvement in a team centered environment.
  • Solid understanding and practical application of Engineering principles and tools

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Self-directed, takes initiative to identify and resolve issues with minimal direction.
  • High degree of ownership for projects and responsibilities
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and perform the tasks as listed above.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Experience with AutoCad / SolidWorks
