We want you on our team... Clark Regional Medical Center located in Winchester, a 20 minute drive from Lexington, KY is searching for a PRN Pharmacist Intern that provides distributive pharmacy services, assistance and support for the registered pharmacist.

Essential functions of position include, but are not limited to:

Prepares sterile and non-sterile products, repackages bulk medications, maintains timely drug distribution system under supervision of a pharmacist

Maintains drug inventory, including purchasing, returns, backorder and recall management, and evaluation and resolution of drug shortages. Recommends formulary alternatives when appropriate.

Assists in operation and maintenance of automated dispensing cabinets, including but not limited to inventory control and optimization, user management, and report review

Reports medication errors and adverse reactions as they arise

Clinical responsibilities are based on level of education and demonstration of competency and may include medication history documentation, anticoagulation or pharmacokinetic consult management, patient counseling, etc. Documents clinical interventions to contribute to quality goals and measures

Under supervision of a pharmacist, reviews and assesses medication orders to identify, prevent, and resolve potential and actual drug related problems

Communicates with physicians and other clinicians as necessary to facilitate care

Completes other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Qualifications - External

Minimum EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent Preferred

Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Licenses: Registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy in good standing and PTCB Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or Pharmacy Intern
