The Patient Care Technician works under the supervision of the provider to administer basic care to patients. On the job training will be provided. Essential duties include rooming patients who present to the practice for care, assisting patients with mobility issues, collect samples, such as blood or urine, check vital signs and basic clerical duties in support of assigned area or office.
The opportunity to become a Certified Medical Assistant will be provided to the Patient Care Technician.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The following qualifications are the minimum requirements necessary to adequately perform this job. However, any equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities would be acceptable, subject to any legal and/or regulatory requirements.
A. Education: High school diploma or GED. License/certification is not required for this position.
B. Knowledge, skills and abilities required: Must have the ability to work independently, have strong oral skills, good basic math skills and be computer literate.
D. Life Safety: American Heart Association BLS certification (CPR) within 30 days of hire and maintain thereafter.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Extended periods of walking, standing, bending and stooping may be required. Ability to hear clearly and have visual acuity necessary for computer use. Ability to do repetitive work, keyboarding and writing. Ability to lift 25 pounds.
