Responds to calls for emergency medical services and provides patient care as directed and/or determined necessary.

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Provides stabilization of patient and requests addition assistance as necessary.

Determines nature and extent of illness or injury and patient's history from available sources.

Administers emergency medical care within scope of practice, including patient stabilization, monitoring and resuscitation.

Qualifications - External

Graduate of Program or Discipline preferred.

Associates Degree preferred.

BLS within 14 days of hire.

ACLS within 6 months of hire.

PALS within 1 year of hire.
