Job Description

Support Center - Irving

Under the direction of the Director - Supply Chain, the Operations Planning Analyst will provide strong problem-solving skills, process improvement, and analytical support (Excel/Access/modeling) to the Supply Chain department. This position will be responsible for: inventory flow forecasting through supply chain, maintenance of analytical tools and databases, supporting supply chain processes, analytical support for company initiatives, and strategic supply chain cost modeling.

Major Activities

  • Manage Supply Chain volume forecast process (Weekly, Monthly, Yearly)
  • Develop volume flow and inventory forecasting models that utilize available information from merchandise planning systems, as well as other relevant inputs
  • Assess relevant data and present to Supply Chain leadership the information needed to plan for labor, capacity, and expense requirements monthly
  • Support monthly and yearly budgeting process with flow and inventory projections.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align on all inputs/outputs to ensure accurate forecast
  • Timely and accurate reporting and analysis.
     

Supply Chain – Process and Flow Improvement

  • Identify and manage Supply Chain opportunities through analysis, study, and project design.
  • Lead projects through development of project plans and management of timelines and deliverables, as well as by providing data, Supply Chain modeling, and analytical expertise.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to enable and influence more efficient flow of product through the Supply Chain.
     

Reporting and Analysis Tools

  • Support and Development
  • Design, development, and maintenance of analytical models and productivity tools (Excel and Access) to support business process efficiency.
  • Prepare reports showing actual performance against departmental goals and objectives and do necessary research to explain variances.
  • Utilize expertise in Excel, Alteryx, and other tools to facilitate department reporting requirements.
     

Other duties as assigned

Minimum Education    

  • Bachelor or equivalent experience

Minimum Special Certifications or technical skills  

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel (i.e. macro’s, modeling, data management)

Minimum Type of experience the job requires  

  • 2+ years of industry experience
  • Minimum 2 years experience in an analyst role working with Excel
  • Outstanding process management and data handling skills

Preferred Education    

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Logistics or Finance
     

Preferred Special Certifications or technical skills    

  • Merchandise planning systems, forecasting methods, VBA, MicroStrategy, ODBC, SQL, Alteryx, Power BI, any other supply chain modeling tools
     

Preferred Type of experience the job requires  

  • Supply chain and finance experience
  • Retail and forecasting knowledge and experience
  • General knowledge of inventory forecasting, inventory management, project management, total supply chain costs, finance, and logistics
