Job Description

Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Specialist Manager is to oversee and supervise the Floor Specialists and their daily operations.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain high levels of cleanliness throughout the property.
  • Resolve team member concerns.
  • Manage labor based on business demands.
  • Conduct suite inspections.
  • Manage the carpet, marble, and furniture care.
  • Manage the general cleaning process for all suites.
  • Conduct performance reviews for all Floor Specialists.
  • Monitor all equipment maintenance and report any concerns.
  • Identify projects based on business needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Manage the work of housekeeping department Floor Specialists, including hiring, disciplinary decisions, performance tracking and day-to-day oversight.
  • Monitor Polished reports for trend analysis by floor, team member, challenge, etc. related to Floor Specialists and their products used in the operation.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Participate in team member engagement events.
  • Focus on achieving the goals or objectives of the department using available resources (team member and budgetary guidelines).
  • Safety is an essential function of this job.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
  • 2 years of cleaning experience and maintenance of carpet and marble experience.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience leading in a unionized environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of Collective Bargaining Agreements preferred.
  • Experience in leading and developing teams.
  • Experience at a 4- or 5-star resort preferred.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to read, understand, and follow all MSDS and OSHA Guidelines.
  • Experience in computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office, LMS, and HOTSOS/REX.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests, outside contacts, vendors, and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry seventy-five (75) pounds, unassisted and push up to three hundred twenty-five (325) pounds, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend, and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors/outdoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
