JOB SUMMARY:

Coordinate and direct the design, planning, construction, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides leadership and direction to maintenance personnel. Responsibilities include hiring, performance management, training, corrective action, recognition, and discipline/discharge.
  • Facilitate maintenance and continuous improvement of the facility's systems including water, compressed air, utilities, HVAC, and process gases.
  • Establish standards and policies for installation, modification, testing, operating procedure, inspection and maintenance of equipment such as the fire loop, emergency generator, compressors, power distribution, HVAC, process water, argon system, plumbing, production equipment, fork truck fleet, grounds and general facilities to adhere to Tenneco Automotive and nationwide standards for facilities and systems.'
  • Coordinate requirements for new designs, surveys, and maintenance schedules for equipment and machinery.
  • Leads in the development of the annual maintenance and capital plan and assists in the preparation of the plan annual budget. 
  • Plans, budgets, and schedules facilities modifications including cost estimates, bid sheets, layouts, and contracts for construction and acquisitions.
  • Recommend capital expenditures, approve department expenses and negotiate vendor contracts.
  • Conduct annual updates of OSHA required training.  Ensure all required inspections and licenses pertaining to the facilities are renewed and up to date.
  • Maintain records, prints, plant equipment documentation, and maintenance history.
  • Oversee the coordination of building space allocation, layout, and communication services.
  • Inspect construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established specifications.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: Bachelors degree or equivalent experience

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years of progressive experience in plant maintenance
  • Minimum of 2 years leadership experience
  • Prior experience working in the automotive industry is beneficial

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft office
  • Detail oriented
  • Working knowledge of control systems, electrical maintenance, hydraulics, robotics, pneumatics and mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of precision maintenance standards and requirements
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs on occasion
