Purpose:

The Internal Wholesaler in the Independent Broker Dealer channel will educate Financial Advisors on Athene annuity products, services and resources via proactive & direct phone contact. This role will partner with the Regional Vice President (RVP) in assigned region to generate sales by prospecting, profiling and relationship-building over the phone!

Accountabilities:

  • Develop and implement territory business plan with RVP partner to increase overall sales through frequent touch points with assigned IBD Financial Advisors.

  • Initiates outbound sales calls to current and prospective clients to position, promote and sell Athene products and communicate company updates.

  • Prospect in the territory and acquire new producers, as well as conduct lead generation and referral calls to develop business.

  • Conduct thank you, pending business, illustration and follow-up calls.

  • Schedule/coordinate/run conference calls/webinars/Go-To-Meetings/ campaigns in assigned territory.

  • Collectively create sales ideas and marketing strategies; share with teams.

  • Assist producers with illustration questions; NIGO paperwork process.

  • Maintain effective Territory Management through daily communication with RVP, including creation of follow-up call lists after a meetings and accurate and timely completion of CRM entries.

  • Know the characteristics of each firm/office/FI which the RVP visits.

  • Facilitate problem resolution and exception requests.

  • Establish effective relationships, providing superior sales/service support and education on Athene product features and benefits.

  • Increase sales and cultivate key producer/marketer relationships while promoting the Athene value proposition with all producers and marketers.

  • Improve product and industry knowledge through various educational opportunities and acquire industry licenses and certifications as needed.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • College degree preferred, but not required.

  • 4+ years financial services industry sales experience required; with prior an annuity products sales experience strongly preferred.

  • Series 6 is required.

  • Prefer candidates who have successfully completed Industry Continuing Education (such as LIMRA / LOMA) courses; or are currently working towards an advanced industry designation such as CLU or ChFC.

  • Effective verbal and written communications required to explain products, tools, concepts and processes to a diverse customer base.

  • Shown success building and fostering relationships to execute and deliver against territory/account growth.

  • Proven track record of implementing and advancing Advisor segmentation growth.

  • Proficient in technology tools to advance sales with demonstrated ability to master and apply presentation skill training.

  • PC technical experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Self-motivated individual with ability to work autonomously as well as collaborate with teammates.

  • Willingness and ability to act in a professional manner and adhere to Athene BEAM values.
