Job Description

Arconic is currently in search of a Commercial Process Manager to join our Kawneer business in Norcross, GA. The position can be seated at one of our Kawneer offices in either Springdale, AR; Harrisonburg, VA; or Norcross, GA.  The Commercial Process Manager will have critical responsibilities across the North American commercial operations and will lead/support the delivery of strategic and tactical programs and projects including technology deployment, design and implementation of innovative processes, reevaluation and reengineering of existing processes, and execution of continuous improvement initiatives. This role will provide support, coaching and direction to the formulation and implementation of programs/projects that drive operational excellence across the commercial organization. The position will also help develop and drive adoption of metrics and analytics. The role will interface with employees at various levels of the commercial organization, other functions, and senior management. The position requires previous supervisory experience leading a team, strong process improvement credentials and ability to motivate/influence cross-functional teams. 

Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain, lead, align, and own accurate front-end process documentation across all functions (i.e., estimating, project management, engineering, and drafting) and locations.
  • Initiate and develop process and technology analysis for the commercial organization, providing support to key commercial functions including customer operations, sales, marketing, and product management. 
  • Analyze, monitor, and benchmark business performance against internal and external metrics; use tools to define, implement and sustain continuous improvement programs; communicate results to management. 
  • Provide expertise and support to commercial operations with the objective of improving quality and increasing efficiency through deployment of Kaizen events, application of ABS sub-systems.
  • Coach and train commercial employees during execution of improvement plans to help create standardized and self-sustaining continuous improvement culture across the North America commercial organization.
  • Perform and document audits of front-end performance to ensure compliance with organizational standards. Review findings with business leadership, document shortfalls, and implement recovery plans to remediate.
  • Provide strategic and tactical leadership for operational excellence and assume overall responsibility for process improvement for commercial functions. 
  • Actively assist in implementation of North America Customer Software Strategy collaborating with functional and technical team leaders of the project execution team. 
  • Guide and support automation of commercial processes in coordination with IT project teams and in alignment with existing and potential technological applications. 
  • Facilitate enhancement and rapid adoption of e-Commerce and customer self-service tools and applications. 
  • Aid in the development of customer service models that enhance service efficiency and customer intimacy. 
  • Assist in developing technical competency and coordination among commercial personnel at locations. 
  • Initiate and support integration and streamlining of processes connecting product development, customer operations and manufacturing functions. 
  • Promote and articulate drivers of commercial excellence among members of the customer operations team. 
  • Present relevant information to internal stakeholders incl. sales, marketing, finance, BCS lead team. 
  • Act as a champion of operational excellence principles and practices; promote critical thinking and innovative provider of aluminum sheet, plate, and extrusions, as well as innovative architectural products, that advance the automotive, aerospace, commercial transportation, industrial and building and construction markets.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a technical field from an accredited institution. 
  • 10+ years leading/supporting customer operations team within an industrial / commercial operation. 
  • Advanced understanding of technical and/or business processes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong business systems credentials with supervisory experience of a technical group required. 
  • Demonstrated competency in delivering results in an accurate and timely manner in a matrix environment. 
  • Proven ability in managing initiatives of high complexity and risk, and in leading multi-faceted project teams. 
  • Possess excellent communication and leadership skills, and an aptitude for leading change initiatives. 
  • Expertise in communicating with stakeholders and ability to effectively resolve stakeholder issues. 
  • PC-based software application skills and experience (Microsoft Office, JDE, Oracle) essential. 
  • Must have a valid driver's license and insurance (must meet company's minimum requirements).
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time (including overnight).
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
