Job Description

Support Center - Irving

Under the direction of the Manager Transportation Systems & Freight Audit, this position provides support by working with Michaels Transportation Carrier Community to ensure timely and accurate payment on all modes of Transportation; International, Domestic and Small Parcel. This position handles all exceptions and escalations related to the 3rd party freight audit partner for all modes of transportation.

Major Activities

  • Provides guidance for all freight audit work performed at the 3rd party audit partner and offshore partner. Work with Transportation Department, carriers and 3rd party to ensure all escalations and exceptions are resolved accurately and timely in order to process payment to carriers.
  • Oversee entire detention process including accruals, approval process and reporting. Process to be performed with offshore resource.
  • Prepare and maintain all reporting for monthly analysis as well as ad hoc reporting.
  • Prepare and review all month end freight accruals and journal entries impacting logistics from the freight audit area.
  • Works with Manager to identify areas/potential projects where process redesign/improvement can significantly impact efficiency of the Freight Audit department.
  • Ensures internal information and 3rd party audit partner is maintained with up to date SOP, contracts, rates, and all other documentation needed to perform valuable audits. Identifies areas where additional review may be needed and works with internal team members to prepare process documentation and share documentation with internal as well as 3rd party audit partner.
  • Other duties as assigned
     

Minimum Education  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain

Minimum Special Certifications or technical skills  

  • 10-key
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint)
  • Advanced skills in Excel

Minimum Type of experience the job requires    

  • Transportation and Supply Chain Management
  • Freight Audit
  • Administrative and clerical procedures and systems, managing files and records, and other office procedures

Preferred Special Certifications or technical skills  

  • Transportation Management (JDA) experience

Preferred Type of experience the job requires  

  • 1-3 years logistics experience
