Arconic is currently in search of a Financial Analyst to join our Global Rolled Products (GRP) business unit in Alcoa, TN. Arconic’s Tennessee Operations, is one of the most modern aluminum fabricating facilities in the world. Our plants produce high-quality molten metal and aluminum sheet and are recognized as a world leader in the business. The facility has been located at the Foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains for 100 years and continues to thrive and grow. 

The Financial Analyst for TN Operations is a strategic business partner to the Manufacturing Managers for TN Operations. The position is primarily responsible for all functional accounting and control activities for TN operations. This position will provide plant level forecasting, planning, reporting, consolidation and analysis functions while developing and managing processes to ensure compliance with ASAT and other internal audit requirements. 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and implement efficient and effective daily manage, forecasting, and budgeting, systems, tools, and processes.
  • Preparation and deployment of budgets and forecasts and analysis to actual performance
  • Ability to forecast and plan results accurately to meet expectations 
  • Calculations of key metrics and communication of results to forecast, plan and to performance objectives
  • Maintaining strong financial controls and processes for all operations related to production in Alcoa, TN.
  • The overall integrity of the fabricating value of inventory.
  • The integrity of the non-metal closing processes and results.
  • Providing visibility, utility, and impact from reporting of financial and operational metrics.
  • Providing an accurate decision support system to facilitate pertinent business decisions.
  • Leading and driving change within the existing financial processes supporting these operations.
  • Supporting the financial forecasting, annual planning, and bridging activities.
  • Maintaining the financial records in accordance with GAAP and Arconic accounting policy. 
  • Serving as overall lead of the monthly closing process.
  • Taking a leadership role in establishing, executing, and reporting progress against both tactical and strategic direction for the operation including financial metrics.
  • Identifying, supporting, executing, and driving cost reduction initiatives while providing critical financial analysis. Provide critical analysis, modeling and interpretation of all product cost related data to improve management decision-making.
  • Evaluating financial implications of process or product changes and recommend opportunities to improve and/or protect existing profit levels.
  • Ensuring that all non-metal entries are prepared in accordance with GAAP and Arconic accounting policy.
  • Maintaining the standard costing system and decision support tools. The incumbent will be an expert user of Oracle and Hyperion.
  • Maintaining ASAT process on schedule and all proper testing completed. SPA for FBP SOX and Non-Sox ASAT objectives
  • Ensuring the proper controls are in place to maintain the integrity of financial data.
  • Reviewing and signing off on all account reconciliations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics or other relevant field from an accredited institution.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA
  • CPA/CMA 
  • Financial or accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Expertise in Hyperion planning and reporting applications, FAST
  • Expertise in standard costing systems, revaluations, p/e, and burden budgets
  • In-depth knowledge of product mix, production flow paths, and organizational operation
  • Expertise in Excel, Access, and use of pivot tables
  • Expertise in Oracle ledger, Oracle Projects, Oracle RTP, Oracle OTC and ability to query within Oracle
  • Strong leadership skills: the successful candidate needs to be comfortable analyzing complex problems, making decisions and obtaining cooperation of others within and outside of the BU. Operates with little to no supervision.
  • Strong communication and human relation skills, written and oral: the successful candidate needs to be able to get into the details to understand issues, but be able to explain things in a concise manner. 
  • Expertise in designing complex decision support and forecasting tools to analyze data quickly. 
  • Tenacity, attention to detail, forward thinking, critical thinking, ability to gain organizational support, ability to work in an ambiguous environment.
