About the role

The NetApp Field Engineer delivers turn-key solutions for NetApp and related vendor technologies. \u00A0Implements advanced services leveraging their expertise in NetApp, Security, Cloud, and Networking.

What you'll do

\u00A0 \u00A0

  • Deliver a turnkey NetApp storage system ready for data migration or advanced software configuration

    \u00A0 \u00A0

  • Supports migration related products and technologies such as 7MTT, XCP, Dobi Migrate, DTA and secure copy/Storage-X. \u00A0Plan, configure, execute and troubleshoot migration jobs.

    \u00A0 \u00A0

  • Implements disaster recovery, high-availability and asynchronous and synchronous mirroring

    \u00A0 \u00A0

  • Knowledge of host base migrations such as Storage Vmotion.

    \u00A0 \u00A0

  • Ability to work collaboratively with engineers and managers in a team environment sharing best practices to meet high quality standards

    \u00A0 \u00A0

  • Effective interaction with customers to ensure quality results are delivered based on their program requirements.

    What we're looking for

  • Support configuration for current NetApp Infrastructures to include on-premise, hybrid and cloud solutions.

    \u00A0 \u00A0

  • Expert with FAS AFF & E-Series hardware

    \u00A0 \u00A0

  • Experience with controller upgrades (head swaps)

    \u00A0 \u00A0

  • Expert with ONTAP 9.0 and SANTricity OS

    \u00A0 \u00A0

  • Experience with OnCommand Insight – OCI, Cloud Products (CVO)- NetApp BlueXP and StorageGrid configuration.

    \u00A0 \u00A0

  • Support switch to switchless conversion (Cisco, Broadcom, Nvidia)

    \u00A0 \u00A0

  • Install and configure MetroCluster – fabric attached, stretched, IP

    \u00A0 \u00A0

  • Cisco/Brocade networking experience

    Desirable Skills

    \u00A0 \u00A0

  • Understanding of Altavault virtual appliance, Flexpod architecture and VMware

    \u00A0 \u00A0

  • Familiarity with public clouds such as AWS, Azure

    \u00A0 \u00A0

  • Scripting skills - Python, PowerShell, etc. are a plus

    Experience:

    \u00A0 \u00A0

  • 3+ Years of relevant work experience

    \u00A0 \u00A0

  • Must be able to analyze complex computer systems and to custom design and develop systems to meet customer needs

    \u00A0 \u00A0

  • Background with virtualization and hypervisors, virtual data center and network virtualization

    Education & Certifications:

    \u00A0 \u00A0

  • NS0-162 \u00A0NetApp Certified Data Administrator, ONTAP

    \u00A0 \u00A0

  • NS0-184 \u00A0NetApp Certified Storage Installation Engineer, ONTAP (NCSIE ONTAP)

    Preferred:

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) [Routing & Switching, Cloud, or Data Center]

  • VMware VCP
