Arconic is currently in search of Electrical Maintenance Planner & Outage Coordinator to join our Tennessee Operations in Alcoa, TN.

Primary function of this role is the planning and scheduling of all electrical maintenance work in the South Ingot and Can Reclamation Departments, and coordinate outages in the Ingot department. The planner will act as liaison between production, engineering and maintenance. Additional responsibilities include data entry, maintaining of records and documentation and ordering of supplies to support the production and maintenance departments.

This position reports directly to the Maintenance Superintendent. 

Primary Responsibilities of the planner include:
  • Ensure that all information is available on Work Orders, Preventative Maintenance Orders and Predictive Maintenance work to optimize touch time for the craft personnel involved. This includes reviewing and updating work procedure information and scheduling work to allow the resources available to be used most effectively.
  • Identify, obtain, stage and document materials, special tools or equipment needed to do the work. Work Orders will be written in Oracle eAM. Parts and special tools will be pre-kitted in a specific location to reduce / eliminate the time the tradesperson spends looking for parts and maximizes wrench time. 
  • Review completed work to schedule follow-up work and update work information for similar future work in Oracle eAM. Identify any necessary updates of materials or documentation.
  • Maintain the weekday and weekend work schedule and planned outage work.
  • Ensure that all safety, health and environmental concerns are considered prior to scheduling work and work with EHS team to complete documentation of safe work plans and contractor / supplemental labor approval.
  • Entering production and maintenance data to support continuous improvement.
  • Updating and maintaining documentation such as survey and calibration records, work instructions, environmental records, etc.
  • Ordering and stocking of materials and forms to support production and maintenance departments.
  • Backfill as Maintenance Supervisor when needed to cover vacations, weekends, and off shifts.
  • Assist with the management of the Overtime System.

Primary Responsibilities of the Outage Coordinator include:

  • Build, track and maintain outage schedules for the Ingot department. 
  • Work with crafts and contractors performing work to maintain continuity of task.
  • Hold meetings prior to outages to gain alignment of task with department management, job kitting parts as required for the outage, and any equipment or manpower needed.
  • Use of the Outage Playbook to assist in planning, tracking, and post outage reviews.
Basic Qualifications 
  • High school education or GED.
  • 3+ years planning and electrical troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Highly motivated with a collaborative approach with all levels of the organization.
  • Extensive working knowledge of ORACLE eAM or equivalent.
  • Ability to effectively manage conflict resolution.  
  • Strong computer skills a must, including maintenance software, and the ability to quickly learn new applications. Working knowledge of Primavera or Microsoft Project scheduling software or equivalent
  • Reading and math skills are required along with the ability to read and interpret blueprints and produce field sketches. 
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications 
  • Associates or BS degree in a technical field
  • 5+ years heavy industrial electrical troubleshooting maintenance experience.
  • 5+ years of maintenance planning and scheduling experience
  • Highly motivated with a collaborative approach. 
  • Advanced knowledge of ORACLE eAM.
  • Advanced knowledge of Primavera or Microsoft Project scheduling software or equivalent.
