Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice and guidance to the management team on EHS policy. Produce procedures where required to support company policy;

  • Maintain a risk management system ensuring that risk is identified and managed effectively;

  • Identify and evaluate applicable legal and other requirements and implement measures to ensure continued compliance;

  • Provide advice and guidance to the management team on objectives and targets to drive continuous improvement;

  • Ensure that systems are in place to minimize the Plant’s environmental impacts though effective monitoring and measuring in accordance with legal and other requirements;

  • Design and Implement effective training systems to provide employees with sufficient information, instruction and training to enable safe working;

  • Maintain an Internal assurance system to ensure that EHS systems are working effectively through a scheduled audit and inspection plan;

  • Maintain a review system to ensure that the management system is being delivered as planned;

  • Identify change and ensure that where EHS is affected it is managed into the business with introducing additional risk;

  • Ensure that all incidents and adverse occurrences are reported, investigated and collated to identify trends, communicate lessons learned and preventative actions are implemented;

  • Manage the introduction of hazardous materials into the plant and ensure that systems are implemented and maintained to ensure their safe use;

  • Provide advice and guidance to the management team on emergency response including associated training and evacuation drills and coordination with external agencies;

  • Maintain certification to EHS standards as required and liaise with external suppliers to schedule third party audits;

  • Maintain a system of monitoring and measuring to enable accurate and timely reporting of EHS data to internal and external stakeholders;

Requirements:

  • IEMA Certificate Environmental Management; 

  • Nebosh diploma;

  • Knowledge about: ISO 14001, ISO 45001;

  • 5 years’ experience as an EHS manager in a manufacturing company with individual accountability for a management system; 

  • Experience of Environmental permitting (nice to have);

  • Experience in an international environment;

  • Experience with Excel;

  • Strong team player with the ability to support and motivate others;
