Reporting to the Senior Director, Controller, the Director of Revenue Accounting oversees that recording and reporting of sales revenues across the enterprise, as well as, maintenance of related certain receivables and deferred revenues.  This role analyzes contracts for compliance with ASC 606 and ensures that the cash cycle for all revenue streams is monitored, efficient, and well controlled.  In addition, this role provides accounting and finance support to management and other business partners, including sales, legal, FP&A and for both internal and external audit processes.  This position is also responsible for developing a strong and supportive accounting team that is reliable, timely, team oriented, and focused on efforts towards continuous improvement.   
What You’ll Do Here:
  • Leadership for 4 direct reports and an overall team of eight. 
  • Ensure compliance with ASC 606 for all contracts and revenue workstreams.  Prepare and maintain revenue accounting policies.  Provide leadership and support to the technical accounting team in preparing technical accounting memos on non-standard revenue items. 
  • Ensure the timely and accurate Month end close activities which includes responsibility for the accounting close of Revenue and Sales and Marketing activities. 
  • Oversight of Month End close activities including review of Journal Entries, Account Reconciliations and balance sheet analyses.  Ensure all accounts are reconciled monthly, appropriate supporting documentation is created, well organized and maintained, and discrepancies are quickly identified and resolved.
  • Collaborate with and provide audit support for both internal and external auditors to complete quarterly reviews, SOX documentation and annual audits.  Review audit findings and recommendations and follow through to ensure compliance with process controls.
  • Maintain and improve processes where feasible to ensure that an appropriate internal control environment is in place and operating effectively and as intended.
  • Work with internal partners to ensure that balances have appropriate visibility and review where needed, including revenue accounting, cost accounting, asset accounting, technical accounting, tax, treasury, and financial planning and analysis, among others.
The Skills You’ll Bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 
  • CPA required 
  • 7-10 years of experience in Accounting/Finance
  • 3-5 years of management and team oversight responsibilities
  • ASC 606 knowledge and expertise required
  • Public accounting experience a significant plus
  • Experience successfully managing teams to adhere to the month-end closing process is required.  Must demonstrate a proven track record of process improvement and successful cross-functional teamwork.
