Arconic is currently in search of a Department Supervisor to join our Fabrication Department in Bloomsburg, PA.

The Department Supervisor will lead the department to achieve all known goals in alignment with the plant business case (e.g. IFE, TRR, DART, Human Performance, OTIF, WCR, Operational Productivity, Labor efficiency, OEE, Inventory, Budget, etc.) by analyzing the departmental performance.  The Department supervisor will implement necessary actions/countermeasures to drive the success of the operation.
 
Primary Responsibilities 
  • Supervise 2-4 Supervisors (supervisors have responsibilities for their crew in the department and coverage in other areas of the plant as needed);
  • Drive the implementation of ABS, Process Management and TPM to achieve departmental goals and continuously improve performance;
  • Engage employees in department initiatives;
  • Coach and train employees and supervisors (Including working on weekends and back shifts as required);
  • Share and implement best practices (with other departments and plants);
  • Plan and assign work, implement policies and procedures and recommend improvements in working conditions;
  • Be responsible for performance management, including preparing and administering performance reviews and disciplinary action when appropriate;
  • Be responsible for problem analysis and resolution showing improved process optimization;
  • Develop, implement and maintain SWI’s, standardized work for employees, leadership;
  • Ensure adherence to Labor Agreement, Work Rules and Standards. 
Key Objectives 
  • Improve working conditions (safety and employee relations) and increase efficiency, productivity, quality, cost; and improve worker’s skills and capabilities;
  • Develop department A3s in alignment with Plant-, EHS- and ABS A3s;
  • Communicate with other production and support departments (Quality, Engineering, PC, ABS, etc);
  • Report out on departmental performance;
  • Review production schedules, staffing requirements and related costs;
  • Implement, maintain and improve processes that will prevent EHS incidents;
  • Work with crews/shifts on weekends and back shifts as required.
Basic Qualifications 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) from an accredited institution;
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment;
  • Minimum of 3 years of managerial and / or supervisory experience;
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
Preferred Qualifications 
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution;
  • Minimum of 3 years of managerial and / or supervisory experience of salaried employees in a manufacturing or industrial environment;
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with project management duties / responsibilities in relation to leading continuous improvement / lean manufacturing initiatives;
  • Experience with Extrusion, Anodizing, Shipping, Material Handling, Paint and / or Fabrication;
  • Experience with data analytics / statistics in relation to making decisions for plant operations;
  • Experience with Quality Management of manufactured goods;
  • Experience creating and measuring key performance indicators (KPIs).
