Job Description

Job Purpose

As an intern, you will be working in one of the following departments for the required work term – Sales and Product Management. In addition, an executive mentor will be assigned to you for the duration of your work term.

Responsibilities

Sales Intern:

  • Maintain sales accounts and enter sales orders in an organized, efficient and effective manner
  • Perform basic research to include looking up multiple lists in database
  • Maintain required sales documentation
  • Gather information from call out campaigns
  • Assist with projects as needed
  • Interface with Product Managers, Credit, Customers, Traffic Specialist and Customer Service

Product Management Intern:

  • Work proactively with vendors, sales and resellers to ensure effective information and sales flow
  • Work with the Product Management team to produce presentations, handouts, newsletters and other marketing materials as needed
  • Provide Sales, Marketing and vendors with market and customer research including market trend analysis and extrapolation from reports, new trends to the IT industry, competitor sizing and pricing research, web-based selling trends and techniques and others
  • Assist in general department organization, file management, system and process coordination
  • Special projects on market profiling, pricing analysis, customer lists and analysis, housekeeping

Knowledge Skills and Experience

  • Intern must have a 3.2 GPA or better currently enrolled at an accredited College or University at the time of the internship (only students from Colleges or Universities in partnership with TD SYNNEX Canada will be eligible)
  • Able to complete a 12-week program at 40 hours per week
  • Demonstrated business communication skills (both verbal and written) with the ability to converse with customers effectively over the phone
  • Proven interpersonal skills and capable of learning, applying and presenting sales principles/techniques within a short timeframe
  • Advanced computer skills capable of multi-tasking and/or work on multiple sales accounts concurrently
  • Must be number and detail-oriented
  • High degree of ethics and integrity a must
  • We look for students who possess strong interpersonal skills and have an interest in starting a career in Sales, Product Management, Business Development and/or Marketing.\u202FAs an IT Distributor, we buy IT products (hardware, software, accessories, etc.) from OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers), such as Lenovo, HP, Microsoft, and sell to Resellers.\u202FOur interns work in these above areas to gain experience working on meaningful business projects.\u202FOur Toronto location has close to 300 employees on-site and is a high energy, fun environment to gain corporate experience; with a Canadian headcount of over 800 associates.\u00A0
  • This is an onsite position located at our Mississauga office.
