We are currently looking for an Application Engineer. The ultimate responsibility of these positions is to service F-M customers and to participate in running the Friction Products business. The business situation and individual skills may dictate the method of meeting these responsibilities, but the result will always be superior customer service and the advancement of the business.

The Application Engineer plays a key role in the design and development process of friction products for our customers.  This work may include customer requirements definition, material selection, dynamometer and vehicle validation testing, failure analysis, customer interfacing and simultaneous engineering with the manufacturing plant.

The Application Engineer is responsible for actively participating in the customer teams.  As a member of these teams, he/she is challenged to manage the current business situation as well as setting the future direction of the business.

The team is ready to act immediately on those candidates who are the best fit for the role. You’ll first hear from someone in Talent Acquisition to schedule a phone screen, and then the next step will be a personal interview with our Hiring Manager. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interface between internal and external customers 
  • Demonstrate ability to be responsive to customer needs
  • Define customer expectations to develop friction products for new business
  • Drive issue resolution and prepare/deliver detailed customer presentations
  • Travel to manufacturing facilities to support business needs
  • Complete APQP deliverables (DFMEA/DVP/Drawing Release/LDS)
  • Complete Skills Matrix deliverables for AE2

EDUCATION: BS in Engineering

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 2-5 years of experience 
  • Testing knowledge
  • Manufacturing knowledge (desirable)
  • Design knowledge (desirable)
  • Positive attitude
  • Communications skills (written / verbal)
  • Planning and organization
  • Microsoft Office Suite
